Hi Jo,
Its been a long time since we met at the SAKG training day in Collingwood last year when we received our Kitchen Aid. She has been rocking our world ever since and I don't know who is loving her more, me or the kids, OK, it's me! I've just booked tickets to the Good Food and Wine Show and see that you'll be presenting there. Do you have your time table yet as it would be lovely to see you again! We are heading down on the Sunday and hope to catch you. Please keep me posted.

Hi Jo – Like one of your other questioners, I have a Stand Mixer and just received a Food processor for Christmas. The mixer is a breeze, is wonderful and I use it all the time.
However, I am struggling with the Food processor. Mine sometimes just stops working and I have to push the whole bowl further to the right to get it to start again....it's as if the bowl is moving slightly. Is this normal or should I look at returning it? Also, I think at some point I have used the used the blades and bowls incorrectly. Perhaps there is somewhere in Melbourne I can go to get some one-on-one instruction about what to use where.
Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Roseanne,
The perfect KitchenAid standmixer attachment for you is the Rotar Shredder slicer. It has a series of drums that do everything including the most wonderful grating. There is a additional set which has a very fine drumb, i use this for grating nuts to make almondmeal, hazelnutmeal, pecanmeal and very fine grated parmesan.

The drumbs a superbly made (in Germany) and make grating a breeze.

There are many recipes on the kitchenAid.com.au recipe website which i have used the shredder grater attachment... it is a great asset to the standmixer

Happy Cooking

Jo,

I have the kitchen aid mixer and I love it.
I am currently looking at buying an electric cheese grater so I can grate my own parmesan cheese. What would be the best accessories to buy? I like my Parmesan cheese very fine. Thanks

Hi Tracey,
I love your email and to read how thrilled you are with your mixer. yes 'she' will change your cooking life!
The rotor shredder slicer is sensational, it is so very quick and only needs a quick wash and its all done.
There are a selection of slicers, shredders and graters YES!! With out standing with you it is dificault to show you which is what.
I wonder if you have the set with 3 drums or the set with 6 drums?
I would grab a couple of potatoes, apples carrots and some cheese... pop them through and see what you get!
I redullarly grate all sorts of fruits vegies and cheese, slice loads of vegies and grate my own fresh almond meal, pecan meal etc.. it all depends on what drums you have.

Sadly no there are not demonstrations currantly. But an odd apple, some cheese etc - will sjow you.
It is not hard to use and the best part is the drumbs are NOT sharp on the inside so YES you can put your fingers in and help move the food out!! It is NOT sharp and NOT dangerous.

I regularly cook with the attachments on TVSN a show on Foxtell.
You may be able to tune in?

Happy Cooking
